Dosing with Rosebud CBD:
We made it easy for you to figure out how much of each Rosebud CBD oil you should measure out, depending on how much CBD you want to dose. The chart below is broken up by Rosebud potency, and indicates the approximate amount of oil to take depending on what works best for you.
We've made it simple by color coding dose guidelines per Rosebud strength. Each horizontal row breaks down CBD mg per 0.25mL to correlate with your CBD bottle dropper.
The first horizontal line is in pink matching our Original Strength strengths in 0.5 ounce 350mg and 1 ounce 700mg bottles.
Below the pink line is our Double Strength in green to match the 0.5 ounce 700mg and 1 ounce 1400mg bottles.
And lastly, the blue line matches our Extra Strength blue bottles in either 0.5 ounce 1000mg or 1 ounce 2000mg.
These are suggestions to help you get started. Please read on to learn more about finding the dose that works for you.
Finding Your Ideal CBD Dosage
“How much CBD oil should I take?” This question is frequently asked by new CBD users. The answer, however, isn’t quite so simple.
When it comes to finding the perfect CBD dosage, there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. What works for you personally, might be a completely different dosage for someone else.
Determining the right amount of CBD oil to consume is more art than science. It takes a little time and effort to find your sweet spot- and even then, you may need to periodically adjust your dose to reflect your ever-changing schedule, mood, and environment.
CBD dosing is a highly individual process.
Determining the best CBD dosage generally depends on the following factors:
Concentration: Concentration, or strength, refers to the total amount of CBD in a given product. Concentration is measured in milligrams (mg) per millimeter (mL) of oil. This is different from dosage, which indicates the amount of CBD per serving.
Body weight: A person’s body weight often plays a role in how much, or how little, the CBD will affect your body. Generally speaking, heavier people may need a higher dose to experience the calming effects of CBD; lighter people, on the other hand, may feel the same effects with a lower dose.
Desired effects: For many, the optimal dose comes down to the level of pain or discomfort they are experiencing. Someone with chronic pain or severe anxiety may need a higher dose to alleviate their symptoms, whereas a person with a milder condition may prefer a lower dose for slightly lesser effects.
Tolerance: Devoted users may potentially develop a CBD tolerance over time. This can result in reduced effects from the same dosage, so higher subsequent doses may be needed to achieve the same desired results.
Getting Started
With these facts in mind, most people who are new to the world of CBD are encouraged to start with the smallest suggested dosage, and gradually increasing the dosage until they achieve their desired results.
In the beginning, try 5-10 drops of your CBD oil. Wait until after the CBD has reached its peak and is leaving your system, before trying a slightly higher dose; around 4 hours for CBD oil.
You can take more sooner, but any effects you feel will be the cumulative result of both doses.
At Rosebud, we offer three potency options to give our customers the freedom to fully customize their wellness routine.
Tips to Help Identify Your Ideal Concentration of CBD
Consistency is Key: Use your CBD oil consistently; take the same amount, at the same time, every day.
Stick with a Routine: Start with this dosage for the first 4-6 weeks, as it may take some time to notice the changes.
Write About it: Keep a journal to track dosage and effects. This will help give you insight into what CBD oil dosage is best for you.
Dose at Night: A possible side effect of CBD oil is drowsiness, so it might be best to start out by dosing at night.

As with any new supplement or lifestyle change, be sure to consult your physician or health care professional before introducing CBD into your wellness routine.
Different Types of CBD Dosage:
CBD generally follows three dose ranges. Smaller doses can stimulate the body, while larger doses can help sedate the body. We offer three potency options to give our customers the freedom to customize their wellness routine.
Microdose: Microdosing, or ingesting extremely low doses of medicinal substances, have taken the world by storm. When it comes to CBD, a microdose falls between the range of 0.5mg and 20mg.*
Standard Dose: A standard dose generally falls between the range of 10 to 100mg of CBD each day.*
Macrodose: Macrodoses are very large, high-range doses that we only suggest under very specific circumstances. Consult your doctor about macrodosing with CBD, which is any dose of 100mg to 800mg per day.*

How to Use Your CBD Oil:
Sublingually
Taking CBD Oil sublingually (under tongue) is a pretty straightforward process. CBD can be absorbed directly into your bloodstream from capillary-rich areas underneath the tongue, and along the gums and cheek. From here, it avoids first-pass metabolism and is sent directly throughout your body.
- Shake well before using
- Fill the dropper to the desired amount
- Drop your CBD oil directly under your tongue; hold for 30-45 seconds, then swallow.
This route gets CBD into your bloodstream faster than swallowing. However, because most of the CBD will eventually be swallowed, peak bloodstream levels range from 0.5 - 5 hours.
It’s also suggested to keep the CBD oil in your mouth for up to a minute before swallowing.
During this time, you can increase absorption by swishing the CBD oil around your mouth, and even between your teeth. This increases the surface contact between the oil and your capillaries.
Swallowing CBD
Ingesting CBD orally is the slowest route for the compound to reach its targets, but it’s also the longest period of time that it will remain active. When CBD is ingested, it passes through the digestive tract, where it’s then absorbed into the bloodstream and travels throughout your body. Peak bloodstream levels are reported anywhere between 1-6 hours, making this method best for long-term supplementation.
Topically
Topical CBD diffuses across your skin and reaches local targets, like muscles, inflammatory cells, and pain-perceiving nerves. Very little, if any, enters the bloodstream — unless it is designed for transdermal activity.
Topicals are great for on-the-spot treatment, and arousal. But for long-term health goals, people often see the best results when they pair topical CBD with oral products.
Get Creative!
Food affects your body’s ability to absorb CBD, and more cannabinoids are absorbed on a full stomach. CBD is fat-soluble, so consuming with a healthy dose of fats can increase the amount of CBD that reaches your bloodstream.
Can You Take Too Much CBD Oil?
If you’re worried about potentially taking too much CBD, don’t fret! Clinical trials have prescribed CBD doses up to 1,200 mg daily for months, without observing any serious side effects. That’s more CBD than an entire bottle of Rosebud CBD Oil, or 60+ suggested servings per day!
Although CBD is considered safe and non-toxic, it could potentially lower your blood pressure. CBD can also interfere with your body’s ability to process certain pharmaceutical drugs. Both CBD and grapefruit inhibit cytochrome p450, so take extra precautions if you are on a medication that comes with a warning not to consume with grapefruit.
As always, we recommend speaking to a healthcare professional before adding anything serious to your wellness routine.
