It’s the time of year when everyone’s packing up their bags and heading out of town for one last vacation before the temperatures cool down. But between coordinating transportation, toting around cumbersome luggage, and the worry of navigating a new place, there are a lot of factors that can overshadow all the joy of getting to take a vacation.
But what if your next trip could be about both the journey and the destination?
Traveling doesn’t have to be a pain. In fact, it can be the perfect time to indulge in a little self-care with a rare, dedicated amount of time to simply sit and focus on yourself. Instead of stressing about the trip, try out these seven tips.
Wear strategic layers while you travel
There’s nothing worse than being away from home without the clothes you need. You might think that you only need sundresses and shorts for a beach vacation, until a surprise rain shower or fifty degree coldfront decide to ruin your sunny forecast. But being prepared with extra clothes doesn’t mean you need to stuff more into your suitcase.
Wear your extra layers while you travel. This also helps ease the stress of unpredictable airplane temperatures if you’re flying. Plus, your layers can serve a multi-purpose – a soft shawl can double as a blanket, or a fluffy sweater works great as a pillow when bundled up into a ball.

Bring along some sheet masks
Raise your hand if your skin has ever majorly freaked out while traveling. If you’re flying, the air on planes can be very dry, and no matter where you go, your skin might react to changes in the environment. A lot of experts suggest that you give sheet masks a try to keep your skin looking fresh while you travel.
These handy products make it easy to have a facial anywhere you go, plus they’re super convenient for TSA-approved packing in their individual packets. Sheet masks make for an easy on-the-go self-care technique.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
The air in planes, trains, and automobiles can easily dry you out. It’s always important to stay hydrated, but it’s especially true while you’re travelling. If you’re flying, the Aerospace Medical Association suggests about eight ounces of water for every hour that you’re in the air. Bringing along a refillable water bottle on your next trip makes filling up and sipping some glorious H2O easy as can be.
Bring something to do with your hands
It’s easy to get fidgety when waiting or sitting still for hours at a time. If you don’t have the opportunity to get up and stretch your legs when sitting on a train, plane, bus, or in the car, you can at least keep the blood moving through your body by keeping your hands busy.
It’s the perfect time to try out a new skill like knitting, or to finally give yourself an excuse to invest in some slime. The repetitive movements with your hands have a soothing effect, and are sure to aid in calming nerves.
Put together a travel playlist
Music is known to evoke deep emotions in us, so whether you’re looking to relax, stay alert, focus, or just keep your mood elevated, pull together an original playlist specifically for your trip. Or, if you like, tune into one of Rosebud’s curated playlists.
Just remember to download your playlist to your phone if you’re flying, or heading somewhere with iffy Wifi or cell service.
Take a barefoot walk in the grass
Some studies have shown that walking barefoot on the ground can help to stave off jet lag. The practice is called earthing, and it’s based on the idea that you need to recharge your cells after flying disrupts their natural negative charge. Since the Earth carries an electric charge, you can replenish your cells (and your energy) by stepping directly on the ground and conducting a little electricity.
To keep yourself from snoozing through sightseeing, when you arrive at your destination, find a nearby park, plop your shoes off, and let your feet connect to the earth.

Have a little CBD
The reviews are in, and many Rosebud customers swear by using CBD to help them chill out. So it’s the perfect product to pack with you when you travel if you find the process stressful.
Rosebud CBD oil is ready to go everywhere with you, even in your airplane carry-on luggage. Tinctures make it easy to treat yourself to a few drops of oil at any point along your journey. That way you can stay calm and balanced the whole time.
