It’s important to know what you’re buying, though. Full-spectrum CBD oil is proven to help with inflammation, pain and anxiety, but if you’re not buying high quality CBD oil, you’re not going to experience the same results.
We know that CBD is capable of alleviating a string of afflictions, but if you’re expecting your life to magically change overnight after one dose of CBD, it might be time to adjust your expectations.
Do You Feel Like Your CBD Isn’t Working?

This is because all the cannabinoids (like CBD and THC) are synergistic, meaning they do a better job when others are present. To fully reap the benefits of CBD, look for full-spectrum, hemp-derived CBD oil.
Try Taking Your CBD a Different Way
If you started out by eating CBD gummies, or vaping CBD, you may want to switch up the way you are consuming your CBD. For example, if you have been eating CBD gummies, they are having to go through your digestive tract before they can be absorbed, so the amount of CBD that ends up in your system may be lower than you realize.

Adjust Your CBD Dosage
Just like the delivery method may be affecting whether or not your CBD oil is “working”, the amount you’re taking will be a factor in this as well.
When it comes to finding the perfect CBD dosage, there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. The amount that works best for you might be totally different for someone else. The main rule of thumb? Start low and go slow. The general recommendation is this:
- When you’re first starting out, try taking 5-10 drops of your CBD oil. Wait until after the CBD is leaving your system before taking a higher dose. You’ll usually be able to tell after 4 hours if your CBD is working, or not. Then you can adjust your dose and try again!

Give CBD Time to Build Up in Your System
CBD is similar to any other supplement in the way that you don’t just take a dose, and expect to see results instantly. Just like with vitamin C, collagen powder or a bottle of probiotics, CBD takes time to build up in your system.
Finding your own, personal (perfect) CBD dosage requires a certain level of commitment and patience if you want to uncover the amazing long-term effects. Patience is key, and while it can be frustrating to keep trying with no results, you’ll be super grateful that you didn’t give up in the long run.
